IMPORTANT INFORMATION IN REGARDS TO OUR RESPONSE TO THE CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

During these uncertain times we would like to offer reassurance as to the strategies and plans we have taken during the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Following a Scottish Government directive, we are open for all bookings from 3rd July 2020.  With the guidance of the Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers, approved by the Scottish Government, we have implemented strict cleaning protocols.

In line with online travel agents it is assumed that a Guest knows of the risks of Covid-19 and that all bookings made after April 6th 2020 will be bound by all current cancellation policies at the time of booking and a guest should follow Government Advice on Travel. It is the Guest’s responsibility to stay up to date with all Government Travel advice. The Guest should have adequate travel insurance to cover their travel should their travel plans change or be disrupted. 

Principal Apartments consider the safety of our staff and customers as being of the upmost importance.  We are continuing to monitor closely the information provided by the UK Government, National Health Service and the World Health Organisation.  As a result, we have implemented the following procedures:

  • All staff have been briefed on the symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) and have been advised not to attend work should they display any of these symptoms.
  • Any staff member who has returned from a high-risk country has been advised to stay at home and self-isolate.  We have no staff members affected by this.
  • All staff members have been briefed on how to deal with any situation where a guest may be showing symptoms or has been advised to self-isolate.

Of particular relevance in these circumstances please note:

  • All our properties are self-contained apartments
  • Each apartment has its own private, fully equipped kitchen allowing the preparation of your own food and more control over your environment.

Please accept our apologies that we will not shake hands when you arrive and will adhere to the "distancing" recommendations of the Government and W.H.O. We have organised arrival arrangements whereby we will maintain social distancing when guests arrive.

In order to minimise risk, housekeepers will not enter your apartment during your stay.  Guests staying longer than 7 days will be provided with extra sets of bedding and towels which you should change yourselves.  Full instructions will be given when you arrive.

You must disclose beforehand if any of your party has symptoms of Covid-19.

We would also like to assure potential guests of the following:

  • Apartments undergo a "deep clean"; particular attention is given to touch points (handles, levers, surfaces, TV remote controls and sofa/chair surfaces), all of which are thoroughly sanitised.
  • Keys will also be sanitised.
  • Decorative cushions and throws on beds are being removed. We are sorry if this makes the rooms look less decorative.
  • Cushions on sofas and chairs will remain; but be assured that these will be deep cleaned prior to your arrival.
